About:
After finding a new role as a ground support aircraft, Hawker invested resources to redesigning the Hurricane wing. What resulted was the 'universal' wing, that could fit a variety of armaments and their necessary fixtures. Originally Mk IIds were upgraded with this wing, along with increased armour plating. This had a profound effect on performance. With the availability of the Merlin 27 engine, all Mk IIes were upgraded and the Mk IV was born. The last true Hurricane variant, it performed galliantly in the closing months of the desert campaign and served in the essential ground support role in Italy and Burma. It also saw action across the English Channel, regularly performing raids on German supply convoys and trains. By early 1944 it was retired in Europe in favour of the newer Hawker Typhoons and Tempests, though it served to the end in Burma.
Features:Known Bugs:
- - Authentic 3D model, including armoured radiator and trop filter (correctly mapped to default skin)
- Correct paintschemes for Channel front (summer) and Desert/Jungle (desert)
- Historic flight and damage model, modelling the Merlin 27 engine and additional armour plating of this model
- New 44 gal drop tanks
- Full historic loadout, including asymmetric rockets/drop tank loadout, and used of RAF bombs
- Update to Hurricane Mk IId 3D, removing frankenparts and adding new filter
- Skins aren't 100% perfect. Friendly-Flyer is making a new set of defaults, will include in later update
- When armed with 1x Droptank and 4x rockets, the rockets incorrectly fire in pairs instead of singles
- Due to how the 3D and loadouts works, the 40mm cannon 3D doesn't appear in the loadout menu BUT will be present ingame if you select them
