Peut-être que la capacité opérationnelle était inférieure à la théorique ?
Ça serait pas la première arme de bord dans ce cas, si ?

#102Have Doughnut and other related documents (Tactical Manual) are very clear about the armament.
The feed-chute with the cartridge belt goes up and around the air duct for the engine.
If the actual ammunition load was reduced in combat... I havent seen any info about it, so far.
Main armament were always the Atoll missiles.. the gun was just a back-up in the F-13.
The original MiG-21F (sans suffix -#) was armed with two cannons (2x 60 rds) only, no missiles.
This cannon armament has seen a comeback with the Chinese F-7 version.

#103The source is
FAMOUS RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT MIKOYAN MIG-21
YEFIM GORDON
720 PAGES
P 73
The mig 21F-13 differed from the pure MIG 21F
primary in lacking the portside cannon ( this was a weight saving mesure )
; hence the munition supply was reduced to a mere 30 rounds

#104Alexander Mladenov is an internationally renowned expert on Russian and Eastern European aviation topics, from Soviet era developments through to state of the art equipment. He lives and works in Bulgaria.
Said also 30 rounds for the gun of the mig 21 F-13

#105I rate A. Mladenov much higher than Y.Gordon when it comes to original info and accuracy.
Still, even renowned experts often dont go into such weapon system related details ( like ammunition capacity ).
Or they fail to check/recheck such info and simply write and repeat what has been used all the time.
Unfortunately.

#107La même phrase apparaît dans "OKB Mikoyan" (Midland, 2009, par Y. Gordon & D. Komissarov, page 203).warbird2000 a écrit :The source is
