"We are going to make game as we see it is best. We don't see big difference in simmers on consoles or PC - they are the same guys mostly. Some changes will be in any case."

Ils vont quand meme continuer a patch WOP
No, updates will be released independently, at least until release of sequel.
...And, we'll continue support and releasing updates till then. It is just that we can't (well, at least it is very hard and a lot of work) release mission editor for current game/missions.

BTW, sequel is not even oficially announced. It is just some information for community

QUOTE (Dano @ May 17 2010, 01:09 PM)
You promised the updates as a carrot to get people to buy an unfinished product, if you hadn't done so you would have lost a great deal of sales so whining on about how you didn't get paid for them isn't going to get much sympathy.
You need to address what is wrong with WoP and address it properly for your sequel to have any chance of success, ignoring the repeated requests of the community for dedicated servers, mission builders, plane customisation, flight modelling and cooperative play will end in another failed product.
1. There were a lot of updates already.
2. We've never promised to fulfill all community requests (although we are trying).
3. Some plane customization (skins) and coopeartive play were added in last add-on.
4. We haven't promised all features in todo list to be provided as updates. Simply that some features were in todo list never meant, that all this features will be provided for free, or even will be ever done. It is todo list (something, we agree would better to be done), not development roadmap. But, we were/are trying to provide as much as possible as updates. And we released much more updates then a lot of good games.
The last, but not the least. We are selling solid project. It is not subscription service. Most of the sales (tens times) were made after Beta, not during Beta. Beta users recieved their game earlier, cheaper, and could affect game development.
For example, current development shows, that providing mission builder will require to re-make all current missions. It is hard work - and completely invisible to players. Who will pay for it?
Of course, we can convert the game to subscription, and then, of course, all updates will be for 'free'. But I doubt a lot of people will pay subscription for mostly single-player game.

Yes, we are going to provide discount (at least temprorary, at launch) for WoP owners.

Hi Guys
That was a big delay in updates.
Now it is time to have return somehow.
I'll tell you some news about progress of development and I'll try to keep informing you each Friday\Saturday.
First of all - big news is that we are not only making updates for WoP - we are working on sequel now.
In WoP we will add (with the help of our yuPlay team):
* in-game and out-game (yuplay client) friends lists, with notifications of changing theirs statuses - online\offline, playing WoP, etc
* achievements
* yuplay persistent chat, which will be available in yuplay client, and, perhaps in game too
* maybe sometime there will be server status out of game (in yuplay client)
also we'll try to add coop to some other mission in game (not only Luftwaffe addon)
This update (with traditional fix of some bugs) will be somewhen in the end of May or in June, I hope.
Now some news about sequel.
First of all - we needed to change scheme of development and to switch to sequel from our initial scheme of making major updates for WoP for certain reasons.
* As you know we are making full mission editor (and also "free flight" - advanced quick mission editor, something between mission editor and dynamic campaign).
This feature unfortunately required very significant changes in AI (ground and Flight). All old missions are not compatible with new mission structure support and AI changes - and it will be hard to make backward compatibility
* We have refactor all the Flight models, made some changes in Damage Model and lots of chnages in AI. It is too much work (and even not visible) to rework all the old mission.
So the decision is made and we are now working on sequel.
Here I'll give you some exclusive information about sequel. It is not offical announce, so something can be changed:
* Sequel will be much more online oriented, with unseen before level of supporting of user-genereatd mission. Online orientation doesn't mean that the game wont be playable in single-player.
* sequel will have lots of downloadable content addons from the begining. For example each location with planes from WoP will be presented as DLC (and it is going to be free for all users who bought WoP of course).
* sequel is going to have total 2-3 times more content then original WoP.
* we are planning to announce sequel this year.
More information about what will be in sequel will be with announce (I think after update for WoP).
Next time I'm going to show you game mission editor and tell you more about it.

source : Post de 99th_Obsidian sur le forum officielWoP is not unlike a beautiful woman you met at a club yu've never been to before (Gajin). Her Russian accent reminds you of your longtime gal pal Ilatoo Stormovica but she is WAY hotter. Stunned by gorgeous looks and her promise "you'll see more soon" you take her home. There she turns on all of the lights and gives you a great performance despite your old hardware. Afterwards you find out that she's an escort and that to get your favorite position (plane) you'll need to pay a bit more. You are hookered, line and sinker. You convince yourself that if you say the right things you can get her to become the woman of your dreams (beautiful, interesting, cooks AND cleans). Right now she's just beautiful and cant cook anything without a egg timer. Now she say's her younger, prettier sister (who is a international chef and former chamber maid) wants to come live with "us" only if you'll pay for travel from Russia. Seems awfully complicated for what started out as fling.
Moral of the story: You get what you paid for. Promises are not contracts. Escorts are whores not girl fiends. Don't try to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Not all flight games/sims are created equal.
