https://www.key.aero/article/dramatic-s ... xford-showA combination of 16 Supermarine Spitfires and four Hawker Hurricanes provided the finale to IWM Duxford’s Battle of Britain Air Show on Saturday 10-Sunday 11 September. Redolent of the similarly mixed-type ‘Big Wing’ formations mounted from Duxford during the Battle of Britain itself, the showpiece also formed part of the IWM’s commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II, whose death was announced less than 48 hours prior to the event.
