Many of the F-117 pilots ran into a couple of MiG-23s out on routine patrol – one even found himself flying in formation with a pair of them. He was off to the left and slightly behind for a couple of minutes before they drifted off, unaware they had been so close to a Nighthawk. However, the MiG-23 was never a problem for the F-117’s because it was incapable of spotting the stealth craft.
