"I while ago I promised that I would update the WM Scenery to include the latest OFF scenery into CFS3.
I have now started doing just that and rather than update the Scenery 4.6 I decided to use the OFF manager for CFS3/BOBIII, as it is written in a very modular and adaptable way and is far more comprehensive than my old project.
So this means the end of the line for the WMScenery projects there will be no update to 4.6.
The new addon will be called BOBIII "Lite"- why - dunno.
It will concentrate on....yep BOB - why - because it is a small section of the war that I can manage on my own.
It will be completely open and completely standalone - as per CFS3 - and it will incorporate the same campaign system as per Over Flanders Fields Phase 2 (yet to be released).
I will be concentrating on only two historical squadrons in the BOB for release - one on the British side and one on the German side (in France).
Users can then add in their own squadrons etc with ease - add in historical airfields.... landmarks.... targets.... the works - I will supply the bare minimum. I will include full docs on how to add to the database.
I will essentially be giving the public an open QC/Mission/campaign and Scenery management framework (ala OFF) around which they can build on up from 1940 to 1945 and have the same features and immersion factors that players enjoy in OFF.
The team comprises:
WM - Code, Scenery, Terrain blah blah blah
and
Polovski - beta test.
Release date - after OFF phase2 and hopefully before Xmas - no promises.
WM"
